-July 2016- Politics, flowers and hawks.

The Lord's creations are so beautiful. Just now, I was watching four hawks circle in the blue sky. They called to each other to communicate. Just like the hawks, we as believers need to keep the communication lines open. I need to keep on the lookout for attitudes of pride or selfishness when talking with my sisters. It is so easy to "stir up a hornets nest." I had a bad experience with hornets when I was 9 or 10 years old. I have learned that lesson. :) I watched  some of the Republican convention last night, and saw Melania Trump speak about her husband and how he would make a good president for the US. I am not that interested in politics, although I do remember my Grandma used to be glued to her radio when the elections were happening. Everyone has a different view, as far as politics, but we as followers of Christ should all agree that the Bible is our guidebook to life. The Ten Commandments are the laws given to the Israelites by the Lord God.  Today, ...

26 and Below MIDWEST (Bible Conference)

My sisters and I enjoyed our trip to Iowa to attend the "26 and Below" MIDWEST Bible Conference.  It was an amazing time of fellowship and Bible teaching.         A new friend let me borrow her  lovely magazines during our drive there. Sunrise in Iowa.

Pearls, flowers and a "blast from the past."

" But where can wisdom be found? And where  is  the place of understanding? 13  Man does not know its value, Nor is it found in the land of the living. 14  The deep says,  ‘It is  not in me’; And the sea says,  ‘It is  not with me.’ 15  It cannot be purchased for gold, Nor can silver be weighed  for  its price. 16  It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, In precious onyx or sapphire. 17  Neither gold nor crystal can equal it, Nor can it be exchanged for jewelry of fine gold. 18  No mention shall be made of coral or quartz, For the price of wisdom  is  above rubies. 19  The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, Nor can it be valued in pure gold. Making Hot Pot for Chinese New Year

Hello my faithful blog readers, sorry for my inconsistent blogging. Thanks for sticking around! I have been busy with work and my three classes at community college. My poor blog has been on the low priority list. On February 7 we celebrated Chinese New Year with a Chinese friend.   We went shopping for ingredients with her and she showed us how to make Hot Pot soup. Cilantro, cabbage and bean sprouts Fish balls The broth simmering on the stove Mushrooms from the sea.  I forget their actual name. The whole spread on the table. Once the soup started boiling, we added the raw vegetables and chicken into the soup to cook. It was delicious!            My sisters and I and our friend. :)

My new Bible cover!

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name  is  Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy  place, With him  who  has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones. 16  For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would fail before Me, And the souls  which  I have made. Isaiah 57:15-16  I just recently had my Bible rebound and the pages restored. I have had this Bible since I was 7 years old. I received it as a gift from my parents after I learned how to read. Since then, it has traveled with me to England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Turkey, China, Lebanon, and other countries. I am so excited with the new cover!  If you need a book or Bible rebound, contact Ace Bookbinding.
