The LORD God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer's feet,
and He will make me walk in my high hills.

Habakkuk 3:3
"Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh,
set a man over the congregation, who may go out before them,
and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in,
that the congregation of the Lord may not be like sheep which have no shepherd."
Numbers 27:16-17
set a man over the congregation, who may go out before them,
and go in before them, who may lead them out and bring them in,
that the congregation of the Lord may not be like sheep which have no shepherd."
Numbers 27:16-17
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.
Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."
Matthew 9:35-36
Matthew 9:35-36
The Lord is my strength. He gives me strength for each day. He enables us to walk on high hills. He is the Holy One who desires us to be holy as well. Because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16) He is the God of spirits of flesh. We have flesh, a spirit and soul. God is a Spirit. He wanted the children of Israel to have a shepherd, one who could go before them and lead them. One to bring them to a place of rest. He did not want the people to be like sheep all alone. Without a shepherd. When Jesus Christ was on earth, He had compassion when he saw multitudes. They were weary and scattered. I get weary, just like them. I lose focus on what I should be doing. I get too caught up in what is happening in what I can see with my eyes. I forget to focus on what is unseen. I forget to "see" the invisible.
By faith he (Moses) forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
Hebrews 11:27
Hebrews 11:27
Christ saw the people as sheep without a shepherd. Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd. He longs to give each person rest and refuge. Quietness and peace. Assurance of an eternal home in heaven. He offers you a gift of life.
He shed his blood once for all- for all people, once for all time.
He paid the price we should have paid for our sins. The Holy One became sin for us! What mercy and patience He has with us! May we feed the Spirit and reap the fruit of the Spirit.
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21
