My First Post!

Lydia on the swing

illuminated redbud leaf - spring 2008

I aspire to honor my Creator and Savior in all I say and do. Our family lives on a quiet little street in the heart of Oklahoma. We have three acres and enjoy taking care of six sheep (three are lambs, including one that was born just days ago), a brown and white rabbit called Cottontail, and eleven assorted chickens from whom we enjoy getting our own fresh eggs. On Tuesday, our broody hen hatched a chick! Now we have two chicks and there are three more eggs we are waiting on.

We hatched this rooster ourselves in an 4-H incubator last summer.

Detail of a rabbit wall hanging I made recently.
The race is on!

The "barnyard"

Our plum, pear and redbud trees are all in full blossom. I enjoy the spring- the weather is just right, and outside all the bright colors and delicious scents are just waiting to be savored!

Photography, and Writing are my strong points but I also enjoy sewing, and arts and crafts.

Whenever I have the time, I enjoy immersing myself in a good book from the library. :-)

Bye for now! Elizabeth. <><

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Happenings in my home...

“The same Jesus Who turned water into wine can transform your home, your life, your family, and your future. He is still in the miracle-working business, and His business is the business of transformation.”    ~ Adrian Rogers “A man ought to live so that everybody knows he is a Christian… and most of all, his family ought to know.”     ~ D. L. Moody                                                                                                   I just started reading "The God Who is There" by Francis Schaeffer. Jesus Christ - and We

Jesus Christ- and We Christ has no hands but our hands ,   to do His work today; He has no feet but our feet   to lead men in His way; He has no tongue but  our tongues to tell men how He died, He has no help but our help   to bring them to His side. We are the only Bible,  the careless world will read; We are the sinners' gospel,  we are the scoffers' creed; We are the Lord's last message,  Written in deed and word- what if the line is crooked,  what if the type is blurred? What if our hands are busy,  with other work than His, What if our feet are walking,  where sin's allurement is? What if our tongues are speaking, of things His lips would spurn, How can we hope to help Him,  Unless from Him we learn? By Annie Johnson Flint  (1862-1932)    I was going through my old school folders and found this great poem. It is so true. We as Christians are to show the world how Christ would act and ta...
