new life- a poem

a fresh, spring leaf, unfurling on the branch. symbol of life, symbol of hope, a heart, symbol of love. points to a love above, a love, greater than all love on earth, a love sacrificial, forever, never diminishing or fading, a Savior who gave His all, so that we could have life, fresh life, new life, life eternal and, experience life in its fullest. Praise be to Him who died for us and rose again!
beautiful strawberries from my sister's garden.                      Some friends of ours came by and we got to see their new baby. Such a treat!                           cute little feet. :-)  Behold, children are a heritage from the  Lord , the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:3

Whom having not seen we love....

Lord's Day, April 15, 2012 DAILY READINGS: Leviticus 23:1-22; Psalms 132-134; Mark 8:27 to 9:13 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb… and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. Matthew 27:59-60 A linen cloth! A new tomb! A great stone! These few words tell the story of our Lord’s burial. His last garment was a clean linen cloth. Man’s last gift to Him was a new rock-hewn tomb. There was a last glimpse of Him before the great stone closed the door of the sepulchre. Those who love Him now wait for their first glimpse of Him, whom, having not seen, we love. —Jim Flanigan Face to face shall I behold Him, Far beyond the starry sky; Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by. —C. Thoughts....

This morning, I mowed some grass, and pulled some sticky weeds from among the daylilies. The weather was perfect for gardening work. Blue skies. A nice breeze with just enough sun shining from behind the clouds to warm my hair. After weeding, I played piano for an hour or so. So much fun! Selections included, "Hava Nagila," "Sonatina in C" by Muzio Clementi (1752-1832), "Theme from 2nd Movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5" (This is not a typical Beethoven piece, it is nice and peaceful, not so loud and gloomy like his normal works are.)  I have recently started studying from Hanon's "The Virtuoso Pianist" as well. (Not that I am a virtuoso!) :-) The exercises in that book are actually nice to play and relaxing. :-) Then I played some old fashioned hymns from "Hymns of Truth and Praise." I am currently practicing #212 "Blessed Quietness", #380"Leaning on the Everlasting Arms", and #416 "I've Fou

It may be today!

It may be today my soul will    take its flight, To be with Him on high in Heaven's    unsullied light. This world is not my home I'm only      passing through, I'm here on business for my Lord His     Holy will to do. It may be that today my suffering here    will cease, And absent from the body be and    joy in my release. No more to gaze through darkened     glass, but then to see The Glory of my risen Lord, who      loved and died for me. Better far, maybe today, I'll hear the    trumpet sound, In life or death I'll hear the shout and    with my Lord be found. I'll see Him face to face - faith then    gives place to sight, And thus in resurrection bliss I'll     share His glory bright. Till then, O Lord, till then, whate'er      Thy will may be Come dwell with me until that day     when I shall dwell with thee. My heart Thy temple make, let me    commune with thee. Until I reach my home above, then satisfied I&

Trip to Texas

We took a short trip to Texas recently.                                                                                        My sisters found a tree frog.....                                                                                Grape leaves....                                                                                  The sunset was beautiful. I can never seem to capture the true colors of a sunset.                                         I got to tickle the ivories a bit after supper.....                                               I liked the reflections in these chandelier crystals.                                  Tazo tea. + relaxed evening + friends + good conversation = nice time.   The next day, we went to a coffee supplier warehouse. They had some neat artifacts there. This was a cash register.                                                       colorful Tiffany glass lamps.
